Step 1: Go to this SEO tool and use the free version to type one of your competitor’s domains into the search bar at the top.

Step 2: When the results show, click on Referring Domains in the left column.

Step 3: Go through the resulting backlinking domains to see what opportunities are available to gain a link or two.

Bare in mind that this is the simplest method of gaining backlinks and not one I would use. Don’t expect them to be relevant to your topic but they might give you a little push for some easy, long-tail keywords.
